Data protection and IT security

The CSE-Institut gGmbH is committed to protecting the privacy of all persons who use our site and to treating the personal data provided to us confidentially. The data will be used exclusively for the purposes stated in each case and will not be passed on to third parties.

To maintain your session, it may be necessary to set a cookie.

Your web browser or client software may transmit information about your computer (for example, IP address) to our servers without your intervention. Such information is never directly associated with you, but is only evaluated in anonymous form for the purposes of statistics, system administration or improving the performance of our Internet offering.

Analysis of user behavior (Analytics)

Insofar as you have given your consent, this website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (“Google”). The use includes the operating mode “Universal Analytics”. This makes it possible to assign data, sessions and interactions across multiple devices to a pseudonymous user ID and thus analyze the activities of a user across devices.

Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. In the event that IP anonymization is activated on this website, however, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. We would like to point out that on this website Google Analytics has been extended by IP anonymization to ensure anonymized collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking). The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google. You can find more information on terms of use and data protection at https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html respectively under https://policies.google.com/?hl=de.

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator.

Legal basis
The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 Abs. 1 S.1 lit. a DSGVO.

Recipients / categories of recipients
The recipient of the collected data is Google.

Transfer to third countries
Personal data is transferred to the USA under the EU-US Privacy Shield based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision. You can view the certificate here.

Duration of data storage
The data sent by us and linked to cookies, user IDs (e.g. user ID) or advertising IDs are automatically deleted after 14 months. The deletion of data whose retention period has been reached takes place automatically once a month.

Data subject rights
You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future by preventing the storage of cookies through a corresponding setting of your browser software; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.

You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by using and installing the browser add-on. Opt-out cookies prevent the future collection of your data when visiting this website. To prevent collection by Universal Analytics across devices, you must opt-out on all systems used.
